ABOUT CERIDWEN DAVIES 

Ceridwen is a Melbourne based musician who enjoys an exciting freelance career. She has been a contracted and casual violist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for many years, has performed and toured internationally with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with Orchestra Victoria, Tasmanian Symphony and Adelaide Symphony. For a number of years, she worked with Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa in Kanazawa, Japan, touring all over Japan and Europe. Ceridwen has also toured extensively with the Melbourne Symphony, including tours of Europe in 2000 and 2007, China in 2002 and the most recent tour (August 2014) to Europe including performances in the Royal Albert Hall for The Proms, London, the Edinburgh Festival, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.  

Apart from her love of orchestral playing, Ceridwen is committed to her work as a chamber musician, focusing on contemporary music, and has worked with groups such as Silo String Quartet, Syzygy Ensemble, Silo String Quartet, and the Arcko project.  She has had the privilege of performing and touring with Archie Roach, on his 2012 album 'Into The Bloodstream' and 'Creation' and with the Black Arm Band. has recorded with artists including John Butler Trio and Clare Bowditch and performs regularly in Melbourne’s musical theatre productions and as a session musician for film scores.
